Zabelin’s answer to critics

Spartak-Primorye’s forward enjoying his best season yet.

Vladivostok team has brought the biggest sensation of Russian basketball in January upsetting UNICS on the road. Spartak-Primorye was labeled as the weakest team in the league at the start of the season. But now it showed its teeth. Just like his team Artem Zabelin disprove skeptic opinions about his abilities. He is no longer injured and getting more floor time then ever. It certainly helps him to show his true potential.

The clear example of his role in Spartak is that game against UNICS. He went from the bench but spent 30 minutes on the floor including most of nervy 4th quarter. He showed diversity in offence (3 of 5 from mid-range, 2 of 5 – 3-pointers, 15 points), was effective under the rim (6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots) and along with his American teammates Delaney and Gillenwater was true hero of the night.

In the 8 games of this season Zabelin averaged pretty solid 12.5 points and 5 rebounds. But it could be only the beginning. And there are some Russian teams who already showed interest in versatile player.
