Yakovenko: I'll try to take my chance

23-year forward is doing his best on the last preolympic training camp.

15 best Russian players are training now in Khimki. Among them there is Spartak St. Petersburg's newcomer Artem Yakovenko. RU-Basket.com talked wih Artem about last news from Russian NT camp.

Artem, how do you and your team feel in a week before Olympics?

I think we are ready. We are trying some new combinations, paying attention to our defence. Everybody feels well. We are in good physical conditions.

Coach didn't name you in early 12-player Olympics roster? Is there any chance for you to change that?

We all know the chance is not big, but I am still trying to take it. Everything is possible until final desicion. Not every day you come so close to Olympics and it would be too easy to give up. Moreover this is a nice opportunity to train with great players and prepare for new season.

Do you have any health problems?

No, injuries are behind me now. I am absolutely ready to play my best in London if I get this chance.

Did you talk with David Blatt last days?

Just a little. He called me and said he would be glad to see me in the training camp. There is always a chance, he said
