Klimenko goes to Adidas Eurocamp

18-year-old Center has been invited to the NBA pre-draft camp in Treviso where he will and join company of the best European talents.

Adidas Eurocamp is the only officially sanctioned NBA pre-draft camp outside of the United States and the best place for scouts to look at European, Asian and African stand-outs. In 10 years Eurocamp opened the door to NBA for the likes of Andrea Bargnani, Danilo Gallinari, Danilo Gallinari, Serge Ibaka, Nicolas Batum, Jonas Jerebko and many more. Former Adidas Eurocamp participants include 56 first and second round NBA Draft picks. Eighteen former Eurocamp participants currently hold NBA contracts.

The camp roster is expected to be finalized in May but Russian Center Artem Klimenko (18 years, 214 cm) received an invitation already. He will be definitely one of the youngest participant of Eurocamp since they are selecting players up to 22 years old. Only extraordinary talent could be invited in such young age, experts say. Also only few Russians participated in Adidas Eurocamp in the last years. Clients of RU-Basket Management Vladimir Veremeenko, Artem Yakovenko, Artem Zabelin and Andrey Ivanov were amongst them.

This season Artem Klimenko was the leader of both main Avtodor Saratov team, which won regular season in Russian Higher League, and junior team, which advanced to JBL Final 8. In Higher League Klimenko averaged 9.2 points, 6.3 rebounds и 1 blocked shot, in JBL – 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocked shots. Artem leads JBL (U18 league) in performance rating.

Adidas Eurocamp will be held June 10-12 in Treviso, Italy. Russian U20 national team will play one of the games at La Ghirada Sports Complex with All-Star team of the pre-draft camp. Tamirlan Bekkiev, another client of RU-Basket Management, has a good chance to play for Russian U20 NT there.
