Agapov saves the game for Saransk

Ruskon-Mordovia forward’s hustle helped his team to take the late lead, win the game.

First minutes of Russian Superleague match between Sparta&C and Ruskon-Mordovia were like a cold shower for guests. In just 4 minutes they were losing 0-13. Ruskon could get even only in second quarter but after half time Saransk team again failed to perform. Cat and mouse game continued in the last quarter. Spartans led 66-62 in a minute before the end of the game when Pavel Agapov shot from the long distance and hit the target. His next move was on the other end of the floor. Agapov blocked Viktor Zaryahko. That wasn’t all. In 20 seconds till the buzzer Pavel calmly made two free throws and secured win for Ruskon-Mordovia – 71-68. Pavel Agapov collected 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 blocked shots and 6 drawn fouls. 26-years old forward was best in his team in plus-minus: +17.

Spartans star Andrey Petukhov was one of the best scorers of the game as he used to. He got 14 point and 13 rebounds. It was his sixth double-double of the season, an absolute high in Superleague.
