Yakovenko: 14 points in St. Petersburg

Power forward became top scorer in a new team.

UNICS couldn't make its supporters happy with harsh loss in St. Petersburg against Spartak 65-89. But performance of recent newcomer Artem Yakovenko was a bright spot. Power forward showed that he quickly adapted to the new team and played his best. Yakovenko spent nearly three quarters on the floor and was one of the most active players in both teams. In second quarter he got slam-dunk, three-pointer, offensive rebound and assist — all in two minutes. Altogether Artem collected 14 points (best in UNICS), 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a blocked shot. His goal percentage was 100% for 3-points and 80% for 2-points.

Another big man of UNICS Vladimir Veremeenko had 10 points (with perfect field goal percentage) and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes.
