Yakovenko unstoppable in Samara

The best game for Artem Yakovenko in PBL this season.

In February BC NN power forward Yakovenko set season best with 30 points against Krasnye Krylia in VTB United League and brought surprising win to Nizhny Novgorod. Now the same teams competed in Russian PBL and while Samara team enjoyed revenge with 79-73 win, they still can’t hold back Artem Yakovenko. He was best in ranking in both teams with 32. Artem collected 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, 2 assists, 2 steals and 11 drawn fouls in 29 minutes on the floor. 6 of his 7 field-goal attempts were accurate (87%), as well as 7 of 10 free throws (70%).

Russia national team’s hopeful started the game with 2 points with the foul, making it 3-0. He shined in fourth quarter scoring 10 points in 10 minutes including showy dunk. Another two-pointer reduced difference to 4 points, 71-67, but Nizhny Novgorod didn't get a chance to come closer.
